The EZ Loader 250-501333 UFP brake coupler lockout key is designed for surge brake trailer couplers and helps prevent the trailer brakes from activating when backing up. This lockout key is commonly used on EZ Loader boat trailers equipped with hydraulic surge brake systems that are not connected to a 5-pole reverse lockout harness.
By inserting the key into the brake actuator, the surge brake mechanism is temporarily held in position so the master cylinder does not compress while reversing. This allows the trailer to be maneuvered safely without activating the trailer brakes.
